Bio

Emma Corrao (kɔrreɪːo) is a composer and vocalist currently based in the Shenandoah Valley Region. Corrao’s works span a wide range of genres, from orchestral works to chamber settings. Her most recent large ensemble works include Soaring Shadows for the 48th Annual Spring String Thing (Virginia’s premier youth string camp), Caldera for JMU’s Symphony Orchestra, and Haunted Seas for SATB Choir. Additionally, works for chamber ensembles include Winter in the Window for flute quartet, and Tempesta for reed quintet.

Emma Corrao currently holds a Bachelor of Music, having studied under Dr. Eric Guinivan and Dr. Jason Haney. Corrao also works as supervisor of JMU’s Music Library, while freelancing as a music copyist and audio production assistant on and off-campus.
